Here are the PTC results from 1 Jan to 31 Dec 2008. Where possible Scoring notes have been provided to tell runners what the conditions were at race time. Questions on prizes and awards must be addressed to the Race Director, not the PTC although the PTC will have a say in how the results were reached.

| Run for the Community 5K Below are the award winners for the 7th Annual Newport News Run For The Community 5K held at the City Center in Oyster Point, Newport News, VA. The race was held on Saturday morning, April 19, 2008 and was sponsored by the Junior League of Hampton Roads. The race was conducted and results were generated by the Peninsula Track Club. Conditions at race time were pleasent, clear with some haze and temperatures around 70. The race was held on the new Oyster Point course, starting and ending near the fountain at City Center running on streets in the Oyster Point Business Park. The course was flat and fast. 176 runners entered the 5K with 151 completing the race. The course has been accurately measured and may be submitted for USATF certification. | Riverside Rehab 5K by the Bay 0900
Below are the award winners for the 18th Annual Riverside Rehab 5K by the Bay held at the Riverside Rehabilitation Institute in Newport News on Saturday morning, May 3, 2008. The race was organized by the Riverside Rehabilitation Institute with proceeds benefiting the Physicians for Peace Walking Free Program. The race started at Petersen's Yacht Basin and followed Chesapeake Ave with a turnaround trough the neighborhood near the Newport News/Hampton City Line. The finish was back at the Riverside Rehab facility. Conditions at race time were sunny, breezy with temperatures in the upper 60s. 250 runners entered the 5K (up from 206 in 2007) with 211 runners completing the course (up from 178 in 2007). The course is USATF certified, cert. number VA-99005-RT. The course was run as certified. |
