Fox Hill Community 5K, RESULTS 2015

The 4th Annual Fox Hill Community 5K was held at Langley Elementary and Gosnold’s Hope Park in the Fox Hill area of Hampton, VA on Saturday, May 30, 2015. The race was conducted and results were generated by the Peninsula Track Club. Conditions at race time were warm, somewhat humid, sunny with temperatures in the mid 70s.

The race, started and ended near the Langley Elementary School in Fox Hill and ran the roads and paths around Gosnold’s Hope Park. The course is not USATF certified. 165 runners entered the 5K (up from 139 in 2014) with 116 completing the 5K course in the one-hour timing window (down from 121 in 2014).

The Overall winner and Top finisher for the Men was Scott Wells, 47 of Hampton with a time of 19:12. The 1st Woman Overall was also the 3rd finisher overall, Carolyn Cunniffe, 19 of Hampton with a time of 20:25.

Notable performances came from the youngest runner and oldest runners in the event. 9-year old Seth Sadler of Chesapeake turned in an outstanding time of 21:40 and was 5th overall finisher in the 5K. At the other end of the age spectrum, 3rd place for Men 65 & over went to 91-year old Robert S. White of Hamton with a time of 42:11.
