The 2010 Joe & Sue Moore Memorial Scholarship 5K Run held on the trails in Sandy Bottom Nature Park in Hampton. Awards went to the top 3 men and women overall and the top 3 in
each age group. The race was held on Saturday morning, February 13 2010. Proceeds go to support the Peninsula Track Club Joe & Sue Moore Memorial
College Scholarship. The race was organized and conducted by the
Peninsula Track Club. This was also the first race in the Peninsula Track Club 2010 Grand Prixseries.135 runners entered the 5K (down from 199 in 2009 – probably due to the recent weather) with 117 runners completing the 5K. The race was
completely on trails within the Sandy Bottom Nature Park and is not USATF certified. Conditions at race time were cold, temperature 32 degrees with a wind chill around 25 and with snow falling throughout the race.
