The 3rd Annual Knights of Columbus 10 Mile Run for the Heart held on the tour roads of the Yorktown Battlefield on Saturday morning, January 24, 2015.  The race was sponsored by the Knights of Columbus with proceeds benefiting the American Heart Association.

Weather hasn’t been the best of friends to the Knights of Columbus 10 Miler.  In 2013 and 2014, the race was postponed to a spring date due to snow or ice which closed the Battlefield Tour Roads.  This year the race went on as scheduled despite a cold rain that covered the area Friday and most of Saturday morning.  Conditions at race time had a light cold rain, which eased up during the race and a light cold breeze throughout the race.  Temperature at race time was 38 degrees.

The course started and finished near Surrender Field on the Yorktown Battlefield.  The 10 Mile course is USATF certified #VA12072RT and was run as certified.

A total of 103 runners entered the 10 Miler (down from 117 in 2014) with 89 runners completing the course (up from 76 in 2014).  Overall awards were given to the top 5 men and top 5 women.

Sat., Jan. 24 – 10 a.m.  Knights of Columbus 10 Miler York High School, Yorktown, Va.
