Below 2 April Gabrielle Weisberg wrote to Nina Stickles about Team in Training. (How does Nina do it?)
Hi Nina,
Thanks again for your consideration and quick response. It would be wonderful if you could put a blurb about our party on your online bulletin board. Here's an idea of what it could include:
Come join Team In Training at the BlackFinn Restaurant & Saloon on April 10, 2008 from 6-9 p.m. for the Nation's Tri-It-Out Party, a recruitment effort for the very first world-class triathlon to help cure blood cancers! Join us for drink specials, complimentary appetizers, door prizes, and special guest speaker Chuck Brodsky, race director and founder of the Nation's Triathlon, and learn more about Nation's Triathlon To Benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society! Don't miss this opportunity to find out how you can become a part of the world's largest sports endurance training program in its 20th anniversary year! We'll see you there, and don't forget to BRING A FRIEND!
BlackFinn Restaurant & Saloon is located at:
333 Waterside Drive, Suite 314/169
Virginia Beach, VA 23510
Thanks Nina!

Folks I talked to Pete Showalter who is the Yorktown 4th of July Committee's contact with the track club. He said that the venue for the race on the 4th will change since vendors want access to main street a lot sooner that they have been given in the past. One suggestion for the race was to move it to the Battlefield area and to have the high school open for runners to use the bathrooms before the race. I opined that we already had a measured course there but would he be open to considering an extended race of say an 8 K? Pete is checking. Stay tuned for more words.

Your webmaster writes: Okay so here's the story on rehosting the web site. You've probably noticed that the site sort of disappeared for several days. When Dave Venable got the web site from Yahoo several years ago, he put the site on his mastercard. Well mastercard's eventually expire. We don't know if the company sent him any warning that they were pulling the plug for non payment, but we were aware that it was to expire and tried to rent the same site space on the server. No dice. The site was hosted in Mumbai India. Another world away. No amount of convincing got them to switch to me even though I had already paid for 5 years of Domain name. So we waited for warning that never arrived ( but with 5 months of free hosting...) they pulled the plug forcing me to find someone in the same hemisphere to host with. We get essentially the same set up plus a blog which I'll start shortly, and e-mail. Plus there are some other goodies to be revealed later. Anyways, not everthing is up yet, but I'm working at this. By the way the RRCA award that I got for the number of hours put in volunteering pales in comparison to the hours I spend updating this site...
By the Way, intervals will startup again every Wednesday night. Tabb High School track behind the tennis courts. 6 PM
