The 1st Annual Fast Before the Feast 5K held at the Mariners' Museum Park in Newport News, VA. The race was held on Thanksgiving morning, November 26, 2015. The event was organized, conducted and results generated by the Peninsula Track Club. Proceeds benefit the Peninsula Food Bank. Conditions at race time were perfect for running - clear, sunny and cool with temperatures around 50 degrees at race start. A total of 823 runners entered the 5K with 748 runners completing the 5K. The event drew many Thanksgiving visitors including runners from 27 different states plus the District of Columbia. The 5K course is not USATF certified.
Corrected results: The 3rd Woman overall was Megan Lavoie, 29 of Richmond, Kentucky not Susan Lavoie, 55 of Newport News. The time for Megan Lavoie (21:05) is correct. The hometown of 1st Woman 70 and over, Susan Fischer was also corrected to Baltimore.
