Below are the full results for the 3rd Annual Raptor Chapter Ugly Sweater 5K Run held in Newport News Park, Newport News, VA on Saturday morning, December 14, 2019. The race was sponsored by the Air Force Sergeants Association Chapter 358 (The Raptor Chapter). Finish line and results services were provided by the Peninsula Track Club. The Ugly Sweater 5K was the final race on the 2019 PTC schedule
The Ugly Sweater 5K course consists of a triple out-and-back starting at the Ranger Station on Constitution Avenue in Newport News Park. The course ran through the Christmas decorations along the length of Constitution Avenue (two of the out-and-backs) with an out-and-back section on Old Stable Road. The 5K course is accurately measured with the first 2 miles based on the USATF certified course #VA13054RT. The runners ran the course correctly as measured.
Conditions at race time were damp and foggy with a temperature of 48 degrees at race start. 28 runners entered the race, with 22 runners completing the 5K. Awards went to the Top 3 Overall Men & Women. All runners who completed the 5K received finisher medals.
First Female, Meghan Mulroy-Goldman, 26 of Newport News VA, was also the first finisher overall with a time of 21:20 (6:52 per mile pace). Second finisher and First Male ws Timothy Pitt, 41 of Hampton VA three seconds later with a time of 21:23 (6:53 per mile pace)
