The PTC Summer Fun Run Series is a set of unique weekday events. Entry fees to each of the events are a can of people food and a can of pet food. Canned goods collected during the Series are donated to worthy charities after completion of the Series.

At the Tom Ray Memorial Predict Your Time 5 Miler, the first event in the 2021 PTC Summer Fun Run Series, 14 runners predicted their time for running a 5-mile stretch of the Newport News Park Bikeway. Runner closest to their prediction wins.
Steve Kast, 56 of Yorktown VA won the Predict Your Time 5 Miler with a prediction just :05 seconds off his time. Steve predicted 47:47 and ran the five miles in 47:42, while placing 3rd overall.
The fastest woman, Megan Schulze, 38 of Glen Allen VA, finished 2nd overall with a time of 39:53 and also had the 2nd best prediction of 41:00 for a differential of 1:07.
Walt Bruce, 59 of Yorktown VA was the first runner finishing the 5 miles of the Newport News Park Bikeway with a time of 38:50, but finished 1:10 faster than his predicted time of 40:00 to have the 3rd best prediction.
