Above are the award winners for the 4th Annual Poquoson Bull Island 4 Miler held at the Port Messick Marina in Poquoson, VA. The race was held on Saturday morning, May 11, 2013. The run was conducted and results were generated by the Peninsula Track Club. Conditions at race time were cloudy and breezy with temperatures in the 70s.
The run, starting and ending at the Port Messick Marina was an out and back on Messick Road, the road that leads to Port Messick and the Poquoson Yacht Club on the Chesapeake Bay. The course is just short of 4
Miles long (actual distance run was 3.85 miles). 138 runners entered the 4 Miler with 129 completing the course.
Above are the award winners for the 23rd Annual Riverside Rehab Institute 5K By the Bay held at the Riverside Rehabilitation Institute in Newport News on Saturday morning, May 4, 2013, at 9AM. The race was organized by the Riverside Rehabilitation Institute with proceeds benefitting the Riverside Rehabilitation Institute Giving Fund. Results and finish line were provided by the Peninsula Track Club.
A total of 589 runners and walkers were registered in two races: approximately 50 entrants participated in the 1 Mile Fun Run/Roll/Walk, and the remainder in the 5K event. 473 finished the 5k Run/Walk. Awards were given to the top 3 male and female runners, the top 3 male and female runners in age group categories, the top 3 male and female walkers, the top 3 male and female Riverside Rehab Institute runners, and the top 3 male and female Riverside Rehab Institute walkers. The weather at race time was cloudy and in the upper 50’s.
