The 2010 10K Run for the Heart held on Saturday morning, April 10, 2009. The race was sponsored by the Knights of Columbus Council 5480 for the benefit of the American Heart Association.The 10K course started on Stable Road in Newport News Park, Newport News, VA. The course was on roads and trails within the park. This year cool spring weather was perfect for running. Clear skies, a slight breeze and temperatures in the 50s at race time made for nice running weather.
A record 165 runners entered the 10K (up from 152 in 2010) with 145 completing the race (up from 140 in 2009).
Results are provided by the Peninsula Track Club. The course is
accurately measured, but is not USATF certified at this time. The 10K Run for the Heart is the 4th race in the 2010 Peninsula Grand Prix Race Series.
