Run for the Stage 5K, Results 2025

Below  are the award winners for the 10th Annual Hampton City Schools RUN FOR THE STAGE 5K Run held on the trails in Sandy Bottom Nature Park in Hampton. Awards went to the top 3 men and women overall, the top 3 in each age group. The race was held on Saturday morning, May 10, 2025.

The Run for the Stage 5K had a total of 363 runners and walkers entering the 5K with 242 runners and walkers completing the 5K event. The course, which follows the trails within the Sandy Bottom Nature Park, is not USATF certified. Conditions at race time were great for running – clear and cool with a temperature of 57 degrees at race start.

For the men First Overall was Alexey Popov, 42 of Newport News VA with a time of 19:17 (6:13 per mile). Second place was Curtis Blauch, 35 of Yorktown VA with a time of 21:20 followed by third place Thomas Worrell, 42 of Hampton VA finishing in 21:31.

For the women, first place went to Marie Giles, 43 of Hampton VA with a time of 22:09 (7:08 per mile). In second place was Kayla Cardona, 28 of Newport News VA with a time of 23:49 followed by Zoe Goral, 47 of Chesapeake VA finishing third in 24:20.

Finish line and results services were provided by the Peninsula Track Club.
