The full results for the 11th ANNUAL FAST & FUNKY 5K held in the Sandy Bottom Nature Park, Hampton, VA on Saturday morning, October 22, 2022 are listed below. The race was sponsored by the Peninsula Track Club benefiting Transitions Family Violence Services, an organisation that has provided comprehensive domestic violence services on the Virginia Peninsula for over 40 years.
The course for the FAST & FUNKY 5K was an out-and-back course along the Trillian Trail in Sandy Bottom. The 5K trail course is accurately measured but is not USATF certified at this time. The runners ran the course correctly as measured. Conditions at race time were perfect for running; partly cloudy with a temperature of 57 at race start. 54 runners, walkers and virtual runners entered the 5K with 45 runners and walkers completing the live 5K. This will be a fast, flat and not too far out event at The Sandy Bottom Nature Park. Runners, walkers, and virtual participants are welcome to join the funky crowd for a fab race that also celebrates the spirit of peace. Please wear your grooviest athletics wear to the race.
