Gates5K_All Runners Gates5k_Age Group Winners
The 2nd Annual T. S. Gates Memorial 5K. Awards went to the top 3 male and female runners overall and the top 3 in each age group. The race was held on Saturday morning, April 17, 2010
and was organized to raise awareness for Aplastic Anemia, Paroxsymal Nocturnal Hemoflobinuria and Myelodysplastic Syndrome. The race itself was conducted by the Peninsula Track Club.104 runners entered the 5K race with 90 completing the course. The race started at Poquoson High School, followed a loop course on Odd Road and finished at the Poquoson Elementary School. The course is not USATF certified. Conditions at race time were cool with a breeze and light sprinkles, temperatures in the low 60s.
