The results for the 5th Annual Raptor Chapter Ugly Sweater 5K Run held in Newport News Park, Newport News, VA on Saturday morning, December 18, 2021. The race was sponsored by the Air Force Sergeants Association Chapter 358 (The Raptor Chapter). Finish line and results services were provided by the Peninsula Track Club. The Ugly Sweater 5K was the final race on the 2021 PTC scheduleThe Ugly Sweater 5K course consists of a triple out-and-back starting and finishing at the Ranger Station on Constitution Avenue in Newport News Park. The course ran through the Christmas decorations along the length of Constitution Avenue (two of the out-and-backs) with an out-and-back section on Old Stable Road. The 5K course is the USATF certified course #VA13054RT. The runners ran the course correctly as measured. Conditions at race time were damp and foggy with a temperature of 58 degrees at race start. 26 runners entered the race, with 20 runners completing the 5K. Awards went to the Top 3 Overall Men & Women. All runners and walkers who completed the 5K received finisher medals.First Overall finisher was Patrick McShea, 62 of Virginia Beach, VA with a time of 23:04 (7:26 per mile pace). Second finisher was William Palagyi, 56 of Suffolk VA finishing in 24:06. Third place finisher and First Female was Taylor Cedeno, 27 of Newport News VA with a time of 25:30.
