The full results for the 6th Annual Raptor Chapter Ugly Sweater 5K Run held in Newport News Park, Newport News, VA on Saturday morning, December 17, 2022 are listed below. The race was sponsored by the Air Force Sergeants Association Chapter 358 (The Raptor Chapter). Finish line and results services were provided by the Peninsula Track Club. The Ugly Sweater 5K was the final race on the 2022 PTC schedule.The Ugly Sweater 5K course consists of a triple out-and-back starting at the Ranger Station on Constitution Avenue in Newport News Park. The course ran through the Christmas decorations along the length of Constitution Avenue (two of the out-and-backs) with an out-and-back section on Old Stable Road. The 5K course is the USATF certified course #VA13054RT. The runners ran the course correctly as measured.Conditions at race time were cold with a temperature of 44 degrees at race start with a very slight breeze making for good running conditions. 19 runners entered the race, with 16 runners completing the 5K. Awards went to the Top 2 Overall Men & Women. All runners and walkers who completed the 5K received finisher medals.As chance would have it, the Top 2 Men and Top 2 Women made up the first four finishers, all with fast times. First Overall finisher was Jim Highsmith, 39 of Newport News, VA with a time of 18:53 (6:05 per mile pace). Second finisher was the First Female, Sabrina Little, 36 of Newport News VA finishing in 19:34 (6:18 per mile pace) which is a new Womens Course Record. Third place finisher and Second Female was Gebrielle Byndas, 24 of Hampton VA with a time of 20:12, one second ahead of fourth place finisher and Second Male, Joseph Stiles, 25 of Hampton with a time of 2013.
