The 2015 Joe & Sue Moore Memorial PTC Scholarship 5K Run held on the trails in Sandy Bottom Nature Park in Hampton. Awards went to the top 3 men and women overall and the top 3 in each age group. The race was held on Saturday morning, March 7, 2015.
Proceeds go to support the Peninsula Track Club Joe & Sue Moore Memorial
College Scholarship. The race was organized and conducted by the Peninsula Track Club.
This was also the third race in the Peninsula Track Club 2015 Grand Prix
series. 91 runners entered the 5K race (down from 135 in 2014) with 81 runners completing the 5K (down from 114 in 2014). Numbers were likely down this year due to the inclement weather of the previous week. In fact, there was a real possibility that the race would be postponed up until the course was inspected on Friday and deemed runnable. The course, which follows the trails within the Sandy Bottom Nature Park, is not USATF certified. Conditions at race time were clear and sunny with a slight breeze and a temperature of 33.
1 Mile Fun Run starts at 9:15 am.
