The Virginia Beach Distance Races are being put on for the express
purpose of giving runners a chance to run PR’s. The course is
flat with aid every 2.3 miles leaving the runner free to
concentrate on running their race.
The 100k is expressly set up so runners can qualify for either
the Spartathlon in Greece, requiring a 10:30 or better time. Or
for the USA national team.
USATF Certified Course. Certifiecation numbers are:
VA14075RT for the 100k
VA14076RT for the 50k
The course is a 2.3 mile loop run on the cart paths of Bow Creek
Golf Course. Following the outside of the course it avoids sharp
turns and is pancake flat. Water only aid will be at the half way
point of the loop, and full aid, plus crew support at the
start/finish line.
