Below are the award winners for the 8th Annual Hampton City Schools RUN For the STAGE 5K Run held on the trails in Sandy Bottom Nature Park in Hampton. Awards went to the top 3 men and women overall, the top 3 in each age group. The race was held on Saturday morning, May 20, 2023. The Run for the Stage 5K had a total of 283 runners and walkers entered the 5K both for the live event and a virtual 5K. 110 runners and walkers completed the live Run for the Stage 5K event. The course, which follows the trails within the Sandy Bottom Nature Park, is not USATF certified. Conditions at race time were good for running – cloudy and humid with a temperature of 66 degrees at race start.For the men First Overall was Ewan Crosbie, 38 of Newport News VA with a time of 21:02 (6:47 per mile). Second place was Marsay Winder, 44 of Hampton VA with a time of 23:18 followed by third place Curtis Blauch, 33 of Yorktown VA finishing in 23:48.For the women, first place went to Fanny Limon-Duparcmeur, 45 of Newport News VA with a time of 25:42 (8:17 per mile). In second place was Melanie Hennis, 60 of Portsmouth VA with a time of 25:54 followed by Christine Schaffner, 59 of Yorktown VA finishing third in 26:33.
