• The Yorktown Battlefield 10-Miler & 5K postponed

    The Yorktown Battlefield 10-Miler & 5K postponed until December 13th, 2025.

    ******NOTICE*****

Yorktown Battlefield 10 Miler postponed to December 13 due to the current government shutdown. Currently, the race director cannot get access to the battlefield tour roads. Although things might get resolved by race day, it currently cannot be counted on this close to the race date. The gates remain locked such that the race course support cannot be provided and the tour roads are currently littered with debris. The race director appreciates everyone’s understanding at this time. Runners already entered will receive an email giving them the option of a refund or free entry to the 2026 race. RunSignUp will be updated to reflect the new date of Dec. 13 with registration remaining open until that time.

Although it is not similar in distance, the PTC recommends anyone looking for a race on the weekend of Nov. 8 to consider the Tidewater Striders’ “Salute to Service 5K”. About 300 have registered to date and may sell out. The race has also been selected as part of the “Fastest of the 757” with any runner who is a member of at least one of the area running clubs, PTC – CRR – or Tidewater Striders eligible for a Top 3 overall, Masters, and age graded award – Male and Female. Go to the Tidewater Striders website for more information.

For your awareness – the OBX Marathon and Half Marathon have cancelled their event on the same weekend for the identical reason.

J ATR’s races have included the Sandy Bottom 8-Hour, the Windsor Castle 10-Hour, JATR’s Backyard Ultra, the Get Outside 8-Hour, and Joe’s Night Run at The Hamptons, which the PTC recently put on at the beginning of October.
