Below are the award winners for the 2017 Poquoson’s Run for the Bulls 5K
\nRun (formerly the Poquoson Seafood Festival 5K).\u00a0 The 5K race (and
\nassociated 2 Mile Fun Walk) was held on Saturday morning, October 28,
\n2017.\u00a0 The event was sponsored by Poquoson Education Foundataion &
\nKiwanis Club of Poquoson.\u00a0 The race itself was conducted by the Peninsula
\nTrack Club.<\/p>\n

192 runners and walkers entered the events with 123 runners entered the
\n5K event (112 finishing the 5K course) and 69 walkers in the 2-mile
\nwalking event (50 finishing the 2mile)\u00a0 The 5K race itself started at
\nPoquoson High School, followed a loop course on Odd Road and finished at
\nthe Poquoson Elementary School.\u00a0 The course is USATF certified VA14036RT
\nand was run as certified.\u00a0 Conditions at race time were sunny and cool,
\nperfect for running with a temperature of 55 degrees at race start.<\/p>\n

There were some fast times at Poquoson High.\u00a0 Notable performances by the
\nfirst two runners.\u00a0 Clint Gault, 17 of Poquoson VA, who won this race for
\nthe last 3 years, won for the 4th time in a row with a time of 15:44, his
\nfastest time at this race yet.\u00a0 A mere 9 seconds behind him was the 2nd
\noverall finisher, Derryn Bray, 33 of Poquoson VA with a finishing time of
\n15:53.\u00a0 3rd Male overall was Derrick Thompson, 15 of Poquoson VA with a
\ntime of 17:40.<\/p>\n

For the women, 1st was Keri Moorefield, 42 of Ashburn VA in a time of
\n23:51.\u00a0 2nd woman was Casey Avery, 15 of Poquoson VA with a time of 24:00
\nfollowed by Katie Nahom, 15 of Yorktown finishing in 24:37 for 3rd.<\/p>\n
