Below are the award winners for the 3rd Annual Fast Before the Feast 5K
\nheld at the Mariners’ Museum Park in Newport News, VA. The race was held
\non Thanksgiving morning, November 23, 2017. The event was organized,
\nconducted and results generated by the Peninsula Track Club. Proceeds
\nbenefit the Virginia Peninsula Food Bank. Conditions at race time were
\nmostly clear, cold with a breeze and a temperature of 37 degrees at race
\nstart.<\/p>\n
A total of 836 runners entered the 5K with 764 runners completing the 5K.
\nThis 5K course at the Mariner’s Museum Park has been USATF Certified
\nVA17036RT. The course was followed correctly by the runners.<\/p>\n
There were some fast times this Thanksgiving morning. 1st Male was
\nRobert Carter, 20 of Melbourne FL in a time of 17:03 (5:30 pace). 2nd
\nMale was Jordan Price, 30 of Newport News VA in 17:33 followed by 3rd
\nplace Male Paul Speight, 31 of Hampton VA in a time of 17:48.<\/p>\n
For the Women, 1st place (and 11th finisher overall) went to Jackie
\nHoffman, 24 of Chesapeake, VA in a time of 19:46. 2nd Woman was Jennifer
\nAnderson, 36 of Poquoson VA in 20:24 followed for 3rd place by Emily
\nHoneycutt, 29 of Newport News, VA with a time of 21:09<\/p>\n
