Sat., May 9 – 9 a.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Below are the award winners for the 11th Annual Hampton City Schools RUN FOR THE STAGE 5K Run<\/strong> held on the trails in Sandy Bottom Nature Park in Hampton. Awards went to the top 3 men and women overall, the top 3 in each age group. The race was held on Saturday morning, May 9, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Run for the Stage 5K had a total of 453 runners <\/strong>and walkers entering the 5K with 279 runners <\/strong>and walkers completing the 5K event. The course, which follows the trails within the Sandy Bottom Nature Park, is not USATF certified. Conditions at race time were great for running – clear and cool with a temperature of 64 degrees at race start.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the men First Overall was Alexey Popov, 43 of Newport News VA with a time of 20:22 (6:34 per mile). Second place was Hagen Prather, 19 of Whitefish VA with a time of 20:30 followed by third place Thomas Worrell, 43 of Hampton VA finishing in 20:49.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the women, first place went to Marie Giles, 44 of Hampton VA with a time of 22:48 (7:21 per mile). In second place was Kaitlyn Agostini, 25 of Hampton VA with a time of 23:23 followed by Catherine Holbrooks, 50 of Hampton VA finishing third in 24:37.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finish line and results services were provided by the Peninsula Track Club.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
