Below and attached are the award winners and full results for the 2026 JOE-ZILLA 5 MILER<\/strong> held on the trails of Sandy Bottom Nature Park on Saturday morning, July 18, 2026. The race was sponsored by the Peninsula Track Club and is the final event of the three-race Trailzilla Race Series, a series of three races held at Sandy Bottom with proceeds benefiting the Peninsula Track Club Scholarship program<\/strong><\/em>. The JOE-ZILLA 5 MILER is named in honor of long-time PTC President Joe Harney<\/strong> who passed away in 2017. It is also the 6th race of the twelve-race 2026 PTC Grand Prix.<\/div>\n
The course started and finished near the Lakeside Pavilion next to the park visitor center. The course for the 2026 event is accurately measured but is not USATF certified.<\/div>\n
The 2026 edition of the Joe-Zilla 5 Miler was held under sunny and hazy with very warm, humid and slightly smokey conditions and a temperature of 82 at race start. 125 runners entered the 5 Miler with 95 completing 5 Mile course. Awards for the 5 Miler went to the Top 3 Male and Female finishers as well as the Top 3 of each age group.<\/div>\n
