{"id":6262,"date":"2020-01-14T22:25:08","date_gmt":"2020-01-15T03:25:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/peninsulatrackclub.com\/?page_id=6262"},"modified":"2026-08-24T13:51:30","modified_gmt":"2026-08-24T17:51:30","slug":"ptc-scholarship-2","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/peninsulatrackclub.com\/?page_id=6262","title":{"rendered":"Joe &#038; Sue Moore Memorial PTC Scholarship"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"p1 wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>Joe &amp; Sue Moore Memorial PTC Scholarship<\/strong> is a one-year scholarship offered by the <strong>Peninsula Track Club<\/strong> to graduating high school seniors accepted to and entering a regionally accredited college or university in a full-time program leading to an associate or baccalaureate degree. To be eligible the student must be a member or the dependent of a member of the <strong>Peninsula Track Club<\/strong> in the year of application and for the year of the award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1 wp-block-paragraph\">Scholarships are awarded based upon the scholar-athlete&#8217;s achievements in high school including the following areas:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Academics<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Extracurricular Activities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Running<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Club Participation (Races &amp; Volunteerism)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Achievement in the above activities will be measured by individual athletic accomplishments as well as contributions made and the degree of leadership demonstrated on a track\/cross-country team and in other extracurricular activities. The Committee will place some emphasis on accomplishments and leadership activities connected with participation in running and with volunteerism and participation in PTC activities. Weighting of these accomplishments with academics will be determined at the sole discretionary judgement of the <strong><em>PTC Scholarship Committee<\/em><\/strong>, whose decision will be final. All submitted information will become the property of the <strong><em>Peninsula Track Club<\/em><\/strong> and may be used or destroyed at the discretion of the Scholarship Committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Awards are in an amount <strong><em>up to two-thousand dollars<\/em><\/strong> ($2,000) dependent on club fundraising and may be used for tuition, books, fees, or assessments.
