The 2011 Joe & Sue Moore Memorial Scholarship 5K Run held on the trails in Sandy Bottom Nature Park in
Hampton. Awards went to the top 3 men and women overall and the top 3 in each age group. The race was held on Saturday morning, February 12,
2011. Proceeds go to support the Peninsula Track Club Joe & Sue Moore
Memorial College Scholarship. The race was organized and conducted by
the Peninsula Track Club.This was also the first race in the Peninsula Track Club 2011 Grand Prix
series. 158 runners entered the 5K (up from 135 in 2010) with 137 runners completing the 5K (up from 117 in 2010). The race was completely on trails within the Sandy Bottom Nature Park and is not USATF certified. Conditions at race time were clear but cold, temperatures in the 30s with a breeze.
