The 3rd Annual NEWPORT NEWS JINGLE BELL 5K RUN & WALK for Arthritis held in Newport News Park in Newport News, VA on Saturday morning, November 17, 2012 The race was sponsored by the Arthritis Foundation.Finish line and results services were provided by the Peninsula Track Club. A copy of the results, links to pictures and listings for future road races can be found on the PTC website: www.peninsulatrackclub.com.The Jingle Bell 5K was a triple out-and-back course starting at the Ranger Station on Constitution Avenue in Newport News Park. The course ran the length of Constitution Avenue (two of the out-and-backs) with an
out-and-back section on Stable Road. The course is not USATF certified. The runners actually ran long on the Sable Road section of the course making the total distance about 3.2 miles. Conditions at race time were
sunny with temperatures in the upper 40s.
A total of 196 runners entered the 5K (up from 191 in 2011) with 163 completing the course (up from 157 in 2011).
