The 3rd Annual JLHR Trot for Teal 5K & 8K. Awards went to the top 3 male and female runners overall and the top 3 in each age group. The races, sponsored by the Junior League of Hampton Roads, were held on Saturday morning, April 21, 2012 and was organized to raise awareness of female reproductive cancer and provide support services for women in Hampton Roads. The race itself was conducted and race results generated by the Peninsula Track Club.The Trot for Teal 5K previously held at the Newport News City Center course in the Oyster Point Business Park moved to the roads around the Mariners’ Museum in Newport News. The 8K was added Neither the 5K nor the 8K courses are USATF certified. Conditions at race time were perfect for running, cool and cloudy with a slight breeze and temperatures in the
60s.A total of 417 runners entered the races (285 in the 5K, 132 in the 8K) with 357 completing the event (245 in the 5K and 112 in the 8K).
