At the Tom Ray Memorial Predict Your Time 5 Miler, the first event in the 2022 PTC Summer Fun Run Series, 18 runners predicted their time for running a 5-mile stretch of the Newport News Park Bikeway.  Runner closest to their prediction wins.

Rick Davenport, 51 of Yorktown VA won the Predict Your Time 5 Miler with a prediction that was :22 seconds off his time.  Rick predicted 59:26 and ran the five miles in 59:04, while finishing 12th overall.

Rick Platt, 72 of Williamsburg VA had the second-best prediction which was :43 seconds off his time.  Rick predicted 1:01:00 and ran the five miles in 1:01:43, while finishing 13th overall.

The third-best prediction was by Fred Denn, 70 of Yorktown VA which was :56 seconds off his time.  Fred predicted 55:55 and ran the five miles in 54:59, while finishing 8th overall.

Jim Duffy, 70 of Poquoson VA was the first runner to finish the 5 miles of the Newport News Park Bikeway with a time of 47:23, but was 1:38 slower than his predicted time of 45:45 to have the 8th best prediction. 

The fastest woman, Karen Sanzo, 45 of Hampton VA, finished 3rd overall with a time of 47:25 but had the 11th best prediction of 50:16 for a differential of 2:51.

PTC Summer Fun Series

No watches are allowed during the race.  The runner who comes closest to their estimated finish time wins. There will be prizes for the 3 runners who come closest to their estimated finish time. The race entry fee is a can of people food and a can of pet food and is taken to a food pantry by a Peninsula Track Club member.  There is no packet pick up or pre race sign up.  Runners show up to run or to help out.  It is a fun summer evening of running and socializing.
