The 4th Annual Transitions 5K Run/Walk run on was held on the Matteson Trail in Hampton, VA on Saturday morning, August 23,2014. The race event benefited the Transitions Family Violence Services. Transitions is the sole provider of comprehensive domestic violence services in Hampton, Newport News, Poquoson, and a co-provider for York County. The race itself was conducted and results were generated by the Peninsula Track Club. Conditions at race time were partly cloudy and humid.
A total of 123 runners entered the 5K, with 106 completing the race. The race started and ended at the Hampton Teen Center, and followed the Matteson Trail around the Hamptons Golf Course. The course is not a USATF certified 5K course.
