Speaker – Dr. Sabrina Little, PhD.
She recently won the women’s division at the Sarfan Center 5K. However, who she really is… a Top American Ultra Distance Runner. Her accolades include:– 5-time US National Champion– 5-time US National Team Member– World Silver Medalist, Team Gold Medalist (2013)– She previously held both the 24-Hour American Record (152.03 miles) and the 200K American Record (19 hours, 30 minutes). When she set those in 2013, she was ranked 6th in World History for the 24-Hour Run. Since then, she has mostly focused on “short” events (26.2 – 100K).– 2013 USATF Ultrarunner of the Year– 12th Place in the 2018 Trail World Championships in Spain to score for Team USA’s Bronze Medal– In 2019, she ran the fastest 100K and 50-mile times for women in the US. She is now ranked 10th in American history for the 50-mile.
Sabrina is an assistant professor in the department of Leadership and American Studies at Christopher Newport University. In March 2024, she wrote and release her first book entitled: “The Examined Run: Why Good People Make Better Runners” which rose to the No. 1 ranked new release on Amazon in the category of Running and Jogging.She will speak about her book and her experiences representing the USA at World Ultra Championships and other competitions. She is also a past participant in PTC’s 24 Hour for Cancer. Light refreshments and beverages will be served.
