The results from the 5th Annual Yorktown Independence Day 8K Run held on the Tour Roads of the historic Yorktown Battlefield in Yorktown, VA on Thursday morning, July 4, 2013. The race was part of the Annual Yorktown 4th of July festivities. The race event was organized and directed by Happy Pace Races. The race itself was conducted and results were generated by the Peninsula Track Club. Conditions at race time were warm and humid and mostly cloudy. Temperature at race time was around 80.This year a new course record for women was set. The first Woman finisher was Renee High, 31 or Virginia Beach, VA with a time of 30:40 breaking the old Women’s Course record of 31:44 held by Lauren Bergstram since 2009.
